The forwarder was previously represented by representative offices in both locations. “To develop a structure for responding more flexibly to the needs of customers and improving transportation quality, Yusen Air & Service has upgraded the representative offices to a company,” it said.
YAS said the new company would primarily conduct sales activities, with the aim being to expand customer segments and transaction volumes by bolstering customer services. It would also aim to enhance transportation quality by strengthening its supervision of the operations of local businesses and agencies with which it had cooperative relationships and develop enhanced services provided by Japanese staff for Japanese customers.
“Customer needs for US-Mexico cross-border logistics, which began in 2002, are diversifying,” continued YAS. “Anticipating that the US and Mexican markets will become more integrated over the medium to long terms, we will continue to bolster logistics in Mexico and the cross-border trucking business, and will expand our presence in the market in close cooperation with Yusen Air & Sea Service (USA) Inc.
