CAAC Civil Aviation Administration of China Xiamen Airlines

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has said that Xiamen Airlines, which is based in southeast China’s Fujian province, has applied for permission to launch four weekly flights from Xiamen to Vancouver from July 2016 and weekly flights between Fuzhou and New York in January 2017.
The Vancouver flights will be operated using B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, while the New York service will use a larger B787-9 Dreamliner, the first of which will be delivered to Xiamen Airlines in 2016. Should the new routes be approved by the CAAC, Xiamen Airlines will become the fourth mainland Chinese carrier to fly to New York, following Air China, China Eastern and China Southern and the fifth to Vancouver, after Air China, China Southern, China Eastern and Sichuan Airlines.
Xiamen Airlines launched its first ever flights to Europe earlier this year, connecting Xiamen with Amsterdam.
