Ryanair steps up plans for transatlantic airline
The board of Ryanair has approved plans to launch transatlantic flights, as part of its five-year growth strategy outlined by the airline. Alaska Air orders six B737-900ERs
Alaska Airlines’ fleet of Boeing aircraft is growing again. Seattle’s hometown airline is purchasing six more Boeing 737-900 Extended Range aircraft, valued at US$594 million, Boeing’s current list price. Lufthansa takes delivery of fifth Triple Seven
Lufthansa Cargo has taken delivery of its fifth and final Boeing 777F freighter aircraft. D-ALFE landed in Frankfurt for the first time on 12 February on its delivery flight from Everett near Seattle. Korean Air widens 4Q losses
The Korean flag carrier posted a KRW272 billion (US$247.5 million) net loss for the fourth quarter of 2014 and a KRW458 deficit for the full year, widened from a KRW57 billion loss recorded in the year-ago period. Boeing and Korean Air finalised an order for five 777 freighters. The order, valued at more than US$1.5 billion at current list prices.
