HK’s AAT sees 12% decline throughput in Sept
Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT) announced today its tonnage throughput for September 2009 was 47,182 tonnes, down 12 per cent compared with the same month last year. Export cargo registered 32,967 tonnes, a decline by 11 per cent against same period last year. Import cargo volume for September was 13,887 tonnes, recording a decrease of 14 per cent from last year. SATS records 26% growth in profit
Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) has reported a S$40.9 million (US$20 million) profit for the three months to 30 September, up 26.2 per cent year-on-year, the second quarterly growth following four consecutive periods of declines. Turnover at the airport ground-handling and catering company grew 45.4 per cent to S$362.3 million, despite a 10 per cent drop in aviation revenue. WFS boosts volumes with 12 new contracts
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), the world’s largest cargo handler, has boosted its volumes in Paris by over 6,000 tonnes a month after signing contracts with a dozen new airlines. Korean Air is the largest of the contracts and sees WFS handling 2,000 tonnes a month for the airline through its cargo facilities at Paris CDG.
