Rostov-on-Don Airport handled 2,338 tonnes of cargo and mail in the first half of 2008, an increase of over 30 per cent while its international airfreight service totaled 597 tonnes representing a jump of nearly 54 per cent. Domestic airfreight service rose nearly 24 per cent to 1,741 tonnes. The airport provided 8513 take off and landing operations in the first half of 2008, up 25 per cent year-on-year. Rostov also handled 570,723 people in the first half of 2008, up 39 per cent.
