On 1 August, China Post’s EMS launched a same day ‘intercity express’ delivery service between Beijing and Tianjin which the group said would facilitate afternoon delivery of morning post and would be the fastest such service in the country.
The move is part of a package of new measures introduced by China Post’s subsidiary to cement its position as the leading nationwide express delivery provider including a substantial reduction in rates at the end of last year as well the introduction of faster delivery time routes nationwide. China’s express delivery sector has been growing rapidly in recent years as the needs of modern businesses expand.
