Congratulations to all the winners of Payload’s first-ever plane naming contest. We had so much fun with this one we reckon we’ll do it again… All the winning entries will receive a confirmation via email and will shortly be receiving a copy of ‘Air Travel Survival’ – the fine tome that it is! And what you’ve all been dying to know… the plane is a…drum roll please…Xian MA 60 and not an Antonov AN 26 as some guessed. The Xian MA60 is a turboproppowered plane made by China’s Xian Aircraft Industrial Corporation under the China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I) and is a close copy of the Antonov AN 26 cargo plane, but is manufactured without licence. Oh, and kudos to those who also identified the aircraft as belonging to the Zambia Air Force!
