Dachser is expanding its air freight network with a new weekly service connecting Asia Pacific to South America.

In June, the transport specialist operated four cargo charter flights with partner Air Canada, connecting Hong Kong to Mexico via Canada. A Boeing 777C preighter was used for the service. This passenger aircraft had its seats removed to provide extra cargo space on the cabin.

The weekly charter departed Hong Kong International Airport bound for Air Canada’s hub in Vancouver. And after transit in Canada, the shipment was split into three flights to make their way to Mexico City International Airport.

Dachser says the service is confirmed to continue in July.

Apart from the Mexico charter service, the company offers regular full or part charter services connecting major hubs in Asia like Hong Kong and Shanghai to Frankfurt.

In response to dedicated customers’ demand, the company also operates additional charters, including Hong Kong-Los Angeles and Nanjing-Hamburg.

“At the moment the market is still unpredictable, our strong air freight network at DACHSER can provide customers a stable supply chain solution. Sometimes it costs more to ship using a premium option, but the reliable transit time justified the cost-effectiveness,” said Endy Chan, department head, air freight air & sea logistics Asia Pacific.
