China Southern Airlines has approved the Envirotainer Releye RLP for usage on its fleet, becoming the first mainland Chinese carrier to approve the temperature-controlled air cargo container.
This will increase the airline’s capacity to provide ULD for shippers and forwarder that need to transport temperature-sensitive goods, such as pharmaceuticals, at a time when most supply chains are considering every mode to get cargo delivered safely and on time.
China Southern Airlines joins China Airlines in Asia Pacific to have approved the use of Releye RLP on its network, along with Qatar Airways, Emirates and United Airlines.
“The Releye® container sets a new standard for secure cold chain transport at a time when Covid-19 vaccine and other temperature-controlled medicines are being shipped around the world,” said Charlotte Huang, deputy director of sales department at China Southern Air Logistics.
“With its advanced technology in long battery life, track and trace device and environmentally-friendly designs, this groundbreaking container will undeniably promote mutual cooperation between Envirotainer and China Southern Airlines in every shipment of temperature-sensitive pharma.”
