Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has announced that TNT Airways has appointed it as its cargo ground handler at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to support its new freighter service between Hong Kong and Europe.

TNT Airways, the leading global express services group, launched its first scheduled freighter service on 17 September, flying direct between Hong Kong and Liege, Belgium three times a week with its B747-freighter fleet. Hactl was appointed to provide physical cargo handling as well as air cargo documentation handling services to TNT Airways which is currently the only freighter operator to provide scheduled direct flights connecting Hong Kong and Belgium.

“Despite the challenges the industry is now facing, the launch of TNT Airways to Hong Kong is again a testimony to Hong Kong’s unparalleled advantage as an international air cargo hub, as well as Hactl’s capability and professionalism in cargo handling,” said Lilian Chan, GM, Marketing and Customer Service of Hactl.

Hactl has also been appointed by Kazakhstan-based freighter carrier DETA Air for cargo ground handling at HKIA, including physical cargo handling, air cargo documentation, ramp handling and crew bus services.
