GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) and Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) have signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Deccan Cargo & Express Logistics Pvt Ltd (Deccan Express) for developing modern express cargo hubs in Hyderabad and Delhi.
Under the agreement, Hyderabad Menzies Air Cargo Pvt Ltd (HMACPL) will offer Deccan Express over 300 square metres of exclusive space within the domestic wing of the cargo terminal at the Hyderabad airport which Deccan Express will develop as a hub for its business in the central and southern regions of India.
Similarly, DIAL will offer over 2,000 square metres of exclusive space at the Delhi airport to Deccan Express which will develop it as a hub for its business in the northern region of India.
Deccan Express will begin operations from the two premises from 1 January, 2009 and will move to the integrated express terminals at both the airports when ready.
“Our MoU with the GMR Group will enable us to establish modern express cargo hubs in Hyderabad and Delhi which together with our central hub at Nagpur will function as a distribution model facilitating highly effective consolidation and dispatch to destination in the metros and the interiors,” said Capt.
