BREAKING NEWS: ICAO bans Lithium-ion battery cargo on passenger aircraft
The 36-State International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Governing Council has adopted a new aviation safety measure prohibiting, on an interim basis, all shipments of Lithium-ion batteries as cargo on passenger aircraft, effective 1 April 2016. The ban pertains only to Lithium-ion batteries shipped as cargo on passenger aircraft and not to those contained in personal electronic devices carried by passengers or crew. AF-KLM posts first profit since 2008, cargo sees losses grow

Cargolux expands Brazil network with Rio de Janeiro
Cargolux Airlines International returns to Rio de Janeiro with a full freighter service starting 4 March 2016. The weekly flight departs Luxembourg for Rio de Janeiro before continuing to Viracopos and then returning to Europe. The return to Rio was driven by growing demand for pre-Olympic Games freight capacity between March and August. Global cargo growth barely ekes out 2.3% growth in 2015
