Swiss WorldCargo to test drone deliveries
Drones will soon be used to deliver packages in Switzerland as part of a pilot project by Swiss Post. Tests are already underway in the US in a collaboration with Swiss WorldCargo, using drones by California manufacturer Matternet, a firm primarily focused on developing airborne options for health care in developing countries. Europe subjected to 3 cargo thefts daily, says TAPA
There was an average of three major cargo crimes a day targeting high value, theft-attractive products in the supply chain in Europe in 2014 with an average loss of €205,624, according to the Transported Asset Protection Association’s (TAPA) 2014 Incident Information Service (IIS) Annual Report for the EMEA region.
