Qatar Airways Cargo is making further progress towards making supply chains more sustainable as it joined the Cool Chain Association (CCA) as a member effective 28 July.
The airline says it will join CCA and its members to deliver contributions in improving the cool chain and sustainable transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and perishable cargo.
Founded in 2003, the nonprofit association aims to reduce food wastage and improve the quality, efficiency and value of the temperature sensitive supply chain by facilitating and enabling collaboration, education and innovation amongst its members and stakeholders.
Through the membership, Qatar Airways Cargo will participate at CCA’s board meetings and focus groups to contribute its expertise, with senior manager of climate control products, Miguel Rodriguez Moreno, representing the airline on the board.
The Doha-based carrier has been busy forging partnerships as of late to enhance its air freight offerings for pharmaceuticals and perishables. Earlier in July, Qatar Airways joined Brussels-based industry group Pharma.Aero as a member.
