Pelican BioThermal’s network station and drop point in Incheon, opened in May last year, seems to be paying off as the ‘global name in temperature-controlled packaging’ announced its latest partnership with Korean carrier Asiana Airlines.
This gives Asiana Airlines access to Pelican BioThermal’s container-on-demand rental programme as the demand for shipping temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals picks up in line with the Covid-19 response.
“I’m excited to announce another airline partnership on the Pacific Rim, particularly another in the Republic of Korea,” Dominic Hyde, vice president of Crēdo™ on Demand at Pelican BioThermal expressed in a statement.
“It has such a key role in the production of ingredients, which are shipped globally and turned into finished drug products,” he added.
Pelican BioThermal said the collaboration provides Asiana Airlines’ customers with solutions for temperature-controlled packaging to cover both deep frozen and frozen applications, including dry ice and PCM coolants, covering parcel and bulk sizes. The airline’s CEIV Pharma certification, it added, strengthens their ‘complementary offerings’ to pharmaceutical manufacturers.
In December the company launched an online learning platform to help customers and distributors build proficiency in temperature-controlled packaging technology.
