Kerry Logistics Network Limited has introduced a new transpacific air freight service to connect multiple locations in Asia to the United States amidst heightened demand in a pandemic-hit air freight market.
The freight integrator is partnering with Huntsville International Airport (HSV) in Alabama to launch its own air network and leverage on the Americas hub in Huntsville, with the first cargo flights originating from Hong Kong set to start this month.
Dubbed Kerry freight controlled network or KCN, the time-definite service will offer standard air freight services with guaranteed space and long-term pricing, particularly for customers looking for stable and long-term solutions, the company explained.
It will also offer door-to-door for services for all sizes of cargo—from small parcels to large and oversized shipments, including dangerous goods and lithium batteries.
KLN plans to establish its own hub at HSV to move inbound and outbound air cargo. The company said it will operate multiple aircraft each week from select origins in Asia as well as trucking connections upon across the Americas.
HSV is part of a much larger cargo network at the Port of Huntsville that offers services via air, rail and highway, along with the Jetplex Industrial Park and the International Intermodal Centre or IIC.
“We chose Huntsville as our Americas air freight hub for KCN as it is congestion free and enjoys expedited transfer of cargo to Latin America and Mexico,” said Kevin Bulger, chief operating officer at Kerry Logistics USA said,
“With cooperation from HSV, we will be able to execute swift dispatch of cargoes to cities within the USA and Canada. KCN will be a welcomed service in the increasingly tight air cargo market and meet the demands of customers looking for a lasting and reliable solution to their air freight needs,” Bulger added.
