Turkish sees nine-month $463m net loss from last year’s $877m profit
Turkish Airlines has posted a net loss for the first nine months of 2016, of US$463 million - a dramatic change from the $877 million net profit for the same period last year. Revenues were down 6.0 per cent to $7.6 billion, while an operating loss of $154 million contrasted the $894 million operating profit for the same period in 2015. Nepal Airlines said it has held informal talks with a Middle East airline after the Nepalese government mandated it to find a “strategic partner,” its managing director said earlier this week. Turkish Cargo adds Dakar to freighter network
Turkish Cargo has launched weekly freighter services to Senegal's capital, Dakar. The Turkish carrier said the launch marked the 10th freighter service to the continent as part of its expansion plans for Africa, and the 51st freighter destination across the globe. Turkish Airlines has been granted permission to carry air cargo from Shannon to Chicago, starting immediately, and will become Ireland’s only direct all-cargo service to North America.
