Singapore Changi Airport saw air freight movements decline 1.8 per cent year-on-year to 163,000 tonnes during the month of March while passenger movements surged to 4.28 million passengers, up a full 15 per cent over the same month a year earlier. Cargo traffic at Singapore's Changi airport is expected to fall by 5.1 per cent in 2009, to 1.77 million tonnes in 2009, from 1.85 million tonnes, according to a Reuters report.
