Deutsche Lufthansa and Fraport have signed a first agreement on short-term cost savings. The partners are thus creating the right conditions for the further growth of Lufthansa at Frankfurt Airport. WFS takes 51% stake in Fraport Cargo Services
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is to acquire a 51 per cent shareholding in Fraport Cargo Services (FCS) as part of a strategic partnership with Fraport AG. The investment is part of WFS’ strategy to continue to expand in Europe’s major cargo markets. Fraport is to retain a 49 per cent share in FCS and will continue to take a substantial role in the management of the company. Frankfurt night flights still in limbo
A German court has approved a US$5.6 billion expansion plan for Frankfurt airport, Europe’s biggest air cargo hub, but passed the responsibility of deciding on whether night flights would continue, to politicisions. The court ruled that the state of Hesse, where Frankfurt is located, must draw up new rules regulating flights between 11 pm and 5 am.
