Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) announced the appointment of Chang Cheow Teck as president of Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace). Chang moves to the new position from that of president of ST Marine. He succeeds Tay Kok Khiang who retired on 1 May 2010 after 17 years of service with the Group.
Tay joined the group in 1993 and has been president of ST Aerospace since July 2001. A professional engineer, Tay is credited with charting the growth of ST’s aerospace sector which today is recognised as the world’s largest commercial airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider. He has also diversified the sector’s businesses to become a leading aircraft engines and components power-by-the-hour and repair services provider, as well as a leader in engineering development capabilities. Under his leadership, ST Aerospace has developed a global MRO network with an extensive customer base.
Chang has been with the Group since 1990 and had spent 16 years of his career in the aerospace sector and held several senior management appointments within the group.
