SEKO announced it has opened a new facility in Qatar to provide both import and export trade, customs brokerage services for the Qatar Peninsula and surrounding areas. It also announced an expansion of its Dubai operations into a new facility under new management.
Qatar is among one of many new SEKO office openings throughout the Middle East and Asia. The trade zone is an attractive location for businesses as it has become a modern high-growth logistics hub, with many large-scale real estate projects underway. Additionally, the largest project to ever take place in Qatar, the new town of Lusail, is currently under construction and expected to be completed in 2010.
Dubai is among the fastest growing logistics centers in the world, as it is securing its status for the foreseeable future with significant investment in its infrastructure, such as the new international airport, office expansion and change in management to better serve its customers. The new SEKO Dubai office continues to cover air, ocean and ground operations throughout the UAE. It serves as a major transhipment and distribution hub for the area, with multimodal transportation throughout the entire UAE and the Middle East.
