Changi Airport sees slight 2% cargo growth
Singapore Changi Airport handled 154,400 tonnes of cargo in September, an increase of 2.2 per cent year-on-year, while the first nine months of 2011 saw airfreight volumes reach 1.38 million tonnes, representing a growth of 2.5 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Aircraft movements grew 16.4 per cent to 25,500 movements during the month of September while the first nine months saw a 13.8 rise with Changi Airport handling 221,900 flights. For the first nine months of the year, the airport handled 34.2 million passenger movements, a year-on-year increase of 11.3 per cent.
