Qatar Airways took delivery of its highly anticipated first A380. With 10 A380-800s on order, the carrier is preparing to take delivery of four of them before the end of this year. Aug cargo figures up for Cathay, Dragonair
Cathay Pacific and sister airline Dragonair have reported carrying 146,955 tonnes of cargo and mail last month, an increase of 19.7 per cent compared to August 2013. Cargo and mail load factor rose by 3.8 percentage points to 62.5 per cent. Capacity rose by 13.3 per cent while the revenue earned per flown tonne of cargo and mail (RTKs) was up 20.6 per cent. Cargo numbers have increased at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (HIA), with an additional 12.76 per cent traffic in July. ACI Asia-Pacific has reported that worldwide freight volumes continue to show signs of strong recovery with improvements in global trade and commerce. DHL opens new logistics centre at Leipzig airport
