Indonesia moves to capture larger slice of MRO biz

GMF AeroAsia and five stateowned MRO companies – Merpati Maintenance Facility, Pelita Air Services, Pelita, Dirgantara Indonesia-ACS, and Nusantara Turbine Propulsi – have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form Task Force MRO Indonesia as part of a government policy to developthe MRO business.

The task force has designed a road map which includes standardisation of maintenance quality, human resources demands for technicians and engineers, capability and capacity programmes, supply chain management, and infrastructure building such as aerospace parks. They will also develop an Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisation(AMTO).
