Hong Kong’s AAT sees Nov gains of 18%
Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT) announced today its tonnage throughput for November 2009 was 56,866 tonnes, registering a growth of 18 per cent compared with the same month last year.
Export cargo in November registered 43,650 tonnes, representing a yearon- year growth of 29 per cent. Import cargo volume for November was 12,940 tonnes, down 7 per cent from last year. Transhipment cargo volume was 277 tonnes; recording a decrease of 15 per cent year-on-year.
The cumulative tonnage throughput from January to November 2009 was 460,153 tonnes, representing a year-onyear decrease of 19 per cent.
AAT general manager, Corporate Development, Nelson Lee said: “Although the cargo volume is still low compared to same period last year, the tonnage growth in November is encouraging during this challenging period.â€
