Carriers agree to Canadian class action settlements
Four carriers have reached class action settlements in air cargo price-fixing suits launched in Canada, including Scandinavian Airlines System, Qantas Airways Ltd., Cargolux Airline International and Singapore Airlines (including SIA Cargo).
Four carriers have reached class action settlements in air cargo price-fixing suits launched in Canada, including Scandinavian Airlines System, Qantas Airways Ltd., Cargolux Airline International and Singapore Airlines (including SIA Cargo).
The settlement applies to shippers who purchased air freight shipping services from any air cargo carrier, including services through freight forwarders, for shipments within, to or from Canada - except for shipments to or from the US - between 1 January 2000, and 11 September 2006.
The settlement amounts include: Cargolux CDN $1.8 million, Singapore Airlines $1.05 million, SAS $300,000 and Qantas $237,000.
Earlier settlements were reached with Lufthansa (including Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss), along with Japan Airlines International.
