Cargo helps push Etihad towards black
Etihad Airways has reported record first-quarter revenues and is on its way to break-even for the full year. The carrier saw overall Q1 revenues rise 21 per cent year-on-year, to US$770 million, fuelled by a 44 per cent increase in income generated by cargo. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier said the result marked continued progress towards its goal of breaking even in 2011 and profitability in 2012.
