DHL was appointed the official Fashion Logistics Partner of the Colombo Fashion Week, which ran the first week of February. With this partnership, DHL said it was seeking to encourage and promote commerce between regional designers and retailers and focuses on uplifting the fashion industry in Sri Lanka.
The international fashion and textile industry represents one of the most important sectors for DHL. DHL estimates the Fashion and Apparel Logistics industry to be worth US$3.9 billion per annum in South Asia. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka alone are estimated to account for well over US$2.4 billion in this fast-growing industry.
