DB Schenker Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has said it is the first company in Malaysia to attain ISO 28000:2007 certifications on Supply Chain Security. This certification, which was audited and issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), is a specification for the security management system of the supply chain that also includes risk assessment and operational systems for dealing with fraud, among other elements.
“This indeed underscores our commitment to constantly enhance our security systems with the aim of minimising the risks of interruptions in the global supply chain,” said Schenker Logistics Malaysia MD, Wolfgang Laabs.
During the last couple of years DB Schenker has expanded their presence in Malaysia considerably. In 2009, a new logistics facility with 77,000 square feet has been opened in Kulim High Tech Park. The company now has more than 1,200 employees and over 1.2 million square feet of warehousing capacity in twelve locations in Malaysia.
