Airbus chief executive Thomas Enders,speaking at the Berlin Airshow, said 1,700freighter aircraft were currently flying the world’s skies, but in two decades the number would more than double to4,200. Part of the demand would be met by conversion of passenger jets but the sales forecast included about 900 newbuilt freighters.
