Dumb, dumber and dumbest

Before we start, we would like to sincerely apologise to the ‘big two’ aircraft manufacturers for featuring the Facebook posts of two intellectually challenged ‘experts’ discussing the merits of Airbus vs Boeing in the aircraft stability (otherwise known as the ‘shake-shake’ department), cockpit computerisation and aircraft safety! We also have to confess that one of the post-ees is a former colleague of ours (not from the aviation sector… obviously).

The bottom line here is that this Facebook exchange simply proves, yet again, some wellknown truths. These being: 1. It’s never a good idea to try to be an expert in something you don’t even have an amateur ranking in, let alone the slightest inkling of; and 2. The Internet simply allows intellectuallychallenged (AKA dumb) people to falsely assume they are actually intelligent.

So without further ado, a Facebook exchange featuring the Terrific Three of A, S and J (names blanked out to protect the dumb). We just hope they don’t ‘unfriend’ us after this because sometimes dumb is entertaining!

POSTSCRIPT: The Belly Achers reckon there’s not much more to add as the ladies and gentleman have done a fine comedic job on their own! But we do – of course – have a couple things to say to the Terrific Three… First off, cars are driven, aircraft are flown – not the other way around. Car – drive. Aircraft – fly.

It’s really very simple. And second, the shaking “left n right” versus “up n down” – well we’re going to let you in on a very special secret Mr S. You may think those enginey thing-a-ma-bobs hanging off the wings are what makes those big metal birds fly, but the tightly guarded secret to flight is that those wings actually flap up and down! Yes! Just like a bird! So you see, that is the answer to why you feel all the shaking up, down, left, right. But, shhhh, don’t tell anyone ok?
