As the fire-storm over alleged subsidies for Gulf carriers by their respective countries swirls in both the US and Europe, Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker, unveiled the carrier’s vision for its latest imminent services to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, at a press conference in the city recently.

The Amsterdam-Doha route will start on 16 June 2015 and will operate six times per week with a B787 Dreamliner.

The new passenger services will further complement Qatar Airways’ existing freighter services to Amsterdam, boosting capacity by 10 per cent. Qatar Airways Cargo, the world’s fifth largest cargo carrier, launched airfreight services to Schiphol Airport in 2003.
