Kerry Logistics has opened a new office in Portugal as part of on-going expansion plans across Europe.
Mário Silva, general manager, Kerry Logistics (Portugal), will be heading up the branch, headquartered in Porto, Portugal’s second largest city and one of the main industrial hubs of southwest Europe.
“Portugal is an exciting market as well as an international gateway for three continents, and we are delighted to be opening a branch there,” said Silva. “Our new office will enhance our existing freight network in Europe whilst giving our customers even greater access to markets across Africa and South America, and in particular Brazil.”
The new office is part of the logistics provider’s on-going strategy of building its presence and network across the European continent. Kerry Logistics (Portugal) will be reporting to Sebastian Bernardo, general manager, Kerry Logistics (Spain).
“It was a natural decision for us to expand into a region where we have seen a strong and growing demand for diversified logistics services,” said Bernardo. “We have recruited an experienced and skilled team to manage our new Portugal office as we look to expand into new sectors and geographies in order to better support our customers’ diverse supply chain needs.”
