Cargolux Airlines has begun a twice-weekly Trans-Pacific service between the two cities in April, operated by the airlines 747-8 freighters. At the Air Cargo Europe event in Munich, Cargolux announced that loads on the first couple of flights have been better than anticipated.

“This new Trans-Pacific service from Zhengzhou is a milestone in the development of our Chinese operations and the cooperation with our partner HNCA,” says Dirk Reich, Cargolux president and CEO. “We are proud that our partnership is moving ahead so swiftly and successfully. Linking Zhengzhou to the Chicago market and beyond offers unique opportunities for shippers and manufacturers on both sides of the Pacific and we can happily say that the Cargolux service has been warmly welcomed by our customers in China and the US.”

In China, Cargolux offers road feeder services to 20 Chinese cities, linking Zhengzhou with major industrial and business centres. It also operates seven weekly frequencies between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou.
