Caracas, Venezuela-based Transcarga International Airways is starting regularly scheduled cargo flights beginning in January to Miami and Houston (Bush Intercontinental). The company has been authorised to operate 20 flights a month to Miami from Venezuela and 10 flights a month to Houston and in February the cargo airline is expected to request more frequencies. The company has added three A300B4-203 (F) freighters in addition to its four Embraer 120 freighters, alongside several smaller Cessna, Learjet and Piper aircraft.

The airline’s services are aimed to the small and medium Venezuelan producers; serving from the internal national market, to the exportation needs of perishable products such as fish, shrimp, vegetables, fruits, flowers, etc. Another key market segment is mail, documents and other packages. Currently, Transcarga is outsourcing its services to larger companies such as Servicio Panamericano de Proteccion, C.A., DHL, Federal Express, UPS, among others.
