Taipei, Sung Shan-based TransAsia Airways has announced it has placed an order with Airbus Industrie for four A330-800neo aircraft, along with four options, with deliveries scheduled to start towards the end of 2018.

Taipei, Sung Shan-based TransAsia Airways has announced it has placed an order with Airbus Industrie for four A330-800neo aircraft, along with four options, with deliveries scheduled to start towards the end of 2018. TransAsia chairman Vincent Lin told the Taipei Times that TransAsia plans to use the aircraft for long-haul expansion in the long term. Alongside its narrowbody and turboprop aircraft, TransAsia currently operates two A330-300 on regional services and plans to lease two more in 2015 to support expansion in the region including charter flights to the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam.
