Th e equipment which was manufactured in Siegen, some 140 KM from the airport was destined for a Kuwait water processing plant.

The shipment was transported in an IL76TD from Volga-Dnepr Airlines, equipped with new stage four engines. Th e transport was organised by Panalpina World Transport division – Energy Solution. On arrival a security check was carried out by sniff er dogs. Two fifty tonne cranes simultaneously lifted the drum from its flatbed truck onto the loading ramp and then into the aircraft. Th e entire operation was managed by the crew from Düsseldorf Airport Cargo.
