Yangon, Myanmar-based Myanma Airways is be rebranded as Myanmar National Airways (Yangon) upon the enactment of the country’s proposed new Myanmar Aviation Bill legislation.

The Bill has been approved by Upper House and now submitted to Lower House and once approved will see the carrier rebrand. The state-backed carrier operates both domestic and regional flights using ATR42s and 72s as well as EMB-190s, a Fokker 28-4000, and an MA-60. It is also expecting the first of six B737-800s and four B737 MAX 8s on lease from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) to arrive from next year onwards.
