Total cargo traffic at the Muscat International Airport by the end of May 2014, saw a slight increase in the total unloaded freight by three per cent with total shipment pegged at 50,591 tonnes, compared to 49,190 tonnes during the same period in 2013.

Total cargo traffic at the Muscat International Airport by the end of May 2014, saw a slight increase in the total unloaded freight by three per cent with total shipment pegged at 50,591 tonnes, compared to 49,190 tonnes during the same period in 2013. The total passenger traffic – including transit and transfer passengers – increased by eight per cent to 3.69 million passengers in the same period.

Oman’s other key airport, Salalah Airport, on the other hand, saw freight traffic recording a seven per cent decrease in total unloaded and loaded freight, bringing the shipment to 576 tonnes until end-May 2014, compared to 618 tonnes in the same period in 2013. Passenger numbers at Salalah were up 18 per cent to 319,520.
