IAG Cargo adds new Latin American services

IAG Cargo has expanded its worldwide network, which comprises more than 350 destinations, with services to Montevideo in Uruguay (four times a week) and Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic (five times a week). Flights to the two new cities will start on 1 September and will build on the strength of the IAG Cargo network in Latin America, which will grow to 16 destinations.

The new routes will be served from IAG Cargo’s hub in Madrid by Iberia A330 and A340-300 aircraft with each flight delivering between 9.4 and 12.7 tonnes of capacity on the Madrid–Santo Domingo route and between 6.5 and 11.7 tonnes of capacity on the Madrid–Montevideo route.

Commenting on the new services, Rodrigo Casal, vice president LATAM at IAG Cargo said: “One of IAG Cargo’s key differentiators is our ability to connect global businesses with key markets in Latin America. These new routes will build on this strength and provide important trade connections that will help support global economic growth.

We see this service being particularly important for perishables producers looking to supply European countries and Asian manufacturers looking for routes into Latin America; drawing on our operational excellence to deliver on their requirements.”
