MASkargo has successfully transported a pair of giant pandas from China to Kuala Lumpur on 21 May. Fu Wa and Feng Yi were onboard MASkargo’s own A330-200 freighter which recently was repainted with a special livery for the occasion.

Flight MH 6462 made a special ferry flight to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) before heading to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with the precious cargo.

Upon arrival, the panda pair was warmly welcomed by Y.B Datuk Seri G. Palanival, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; and HE Huang Huikang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia.

Mohd Yunus Idris, CEO of MASkargo who was present at the handover ceremony for Fu Wa and Feng Yi in Chengdu was also onboard flight MH 6462. “In a development that augurs well for Malaysia, we are proud to be a part of such a significant event. It is an honor for MASkargo to transport one of the national treasures of the Republic of China to Malaysia,” Idris said.

Also onboard the flight were Dr. Li of the China Wildlife Conservation Association and Dr Naim Zainuddin of Zoo Negara to ensure the wellbeing of the giant pandas.
