Cargo bodies to develop defaulters’ database
The main objective of the cooperation is to evolve a dispute resolution system rather than going into needless litigation with a defaulter.

Three air and sea cargo handling associations on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for developing a database to identify freight defaulters. The MoU was signed by Air Cargo Agents Association of Pakistan (ACAAP) Regional Chairman Mansoor Shahid Kashmirwala, Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) Chairman Abdul Majeed Paracha and Pakistan Ship’s Agents Association (PSAA) Chairman Mohammed A. Rajpar.
For safeguarding interests of their members who were operating on thin profit margins, the leaders of these associations decided to tackle freight defaulters mutually under given rules and law. However, each association would develop its own Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and would inform each other for necessary action if any issue arises.
