Spain’s national postal operator Correos has rebranded its express parcels business as Correos Express. The division previously known as Chronoexprés is being maintained as a separate and independent company within the Correos Group, the company said.
The Correos Express portfolio will offer consumers a “comprehensive” service lineup as Correos aims to become the “best provider of physical, electronic and parcel services in the Spanish communications market.” Correos said its rebranded express business offered the best prices for delivery within 24 hours thanks to its technological development, which also offers customers “peace of mind” in knowing the status of shipments at all times, and a reliable prediction of delivery time.
The rebranding comes as competition heats up on the Iberian Peninsula as firms – including newly-privatised Portuguese postal operator CTT Group with its Spanish subsidiary Tourline Express, French postal operator La Poste with its parcel carrier Seur and US express giant FedEx Express – seek to tap growth in e-commerce and business-to-business parcels.
