Melbourne services Qatar upgrades Moscow

Effective from 1 April Qatar Airways has upgraded its capacity on its daily Melbourne-Doha service by 30 per cent, with a B777-300 aircraft. Qatar Airways also flies daily to Perth in Western Australia. “Along with our daily flights to both Melbourne and Perth, the increase in overall capacity on our Melbourne route is further testament to our commitment to the Australian market,” said Al Baker.

Commencing 1 September Qatar will be upgrading services on its Moscow route with an increase in weekly frequencies, as well as new aircraft to help meet what it says is growth in demand to the Russian capital. Qatar Airways will be adding two additional flights per week to the Doha-Moscow route, bringing the total frequency for each week up to 14. To go along with the increase in frequency, the airline is introducing its newly upgraded A320 to replace the current mixed fleet of A321 and A320s, as well as a B787 Dreamliner.

Over the next few months, the network will grow further with Larnaca, Cyprus (29 April), Al Hofuf, Saudia Arabia (15 May), Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Turkey (22 May), Edinburgh, Scotland (28 May), Miami, US (10 June), Haneda, Japan (18 June) and Dallas/Fort Worth, US (1 July).
