The world’s postal administrationshave been advised that they shouldno longer dispatch international mailaddressed to the Crimea region viaUkrainian Post. The Universal PostalUnion passed on a message from thenational postal service of the Ukraine lastweek confirming that it has difficultiesdelivering postal items to locations in theCrimea and the city of Sevastopol. Theguidance comes following the annexationof the territory by Russia in the wake of alocal referendum described by the UnitedNations as “invalid”. According to theUPU, Ukraine received about 20 millionletters and more than 2.5 million parcelsfrom abroad in 2012.
