Air China plans to start a new Beijing-Vladivostok, Russia service on 3 June operating the service four-times weekly. The new service is Air China’s third route to Russia after Beijing-Moscow and Beijing-Chita. It will bring the number of Air China’s European routes up to 24. Vladivostok is the third most popular Russian destination for Chinese air travellers, behind Moscow and St Petersburg, and is the largest Far East market for Chinese travellers. In recent years, the number of Chinese travellers to and from Vladivostok have been increasing rapidly with 43,000 visiting in 2012 alone, representing an increase of about four times, over a year earlier.
