Etihad ups Chengdu frequencies

Service to be up-ed on March 20 this year.

The airline has been operating five-times weekly to the Chinese city since December 2011, but will up this to daily on March 30.

According to the airline, which also flies to Beijing and Shanghai in China, passenger traffic in the route has grown 25 per cent in the past year, compared with 2012. It says cargo and mail volumes are up 19 per cent year on year.

James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways, said: “With consistent double-digit growth in passenger and cargo volumes, Chengdu represents a great opportunity.”
