No compromise on KLIA 2 safety

Acting Transport minister reiterates that the government stresses on not compromising safety involving the KLIA 2 project.

Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said that the project was on track to meet its May 2 deadline and rejected allegations that 65 per cent of the main terminal did not comply with fire and safety standards. In a statement he remarked that the airport’s systems “has been tested and proven to be fully functional”.

The report comes after the repeated missed deadlines for opening by KLIA 2 since September 2011. The last scheduled proposed opening date was last year in April.
