Agility, a leading global logistics provider, has increased the frequency of its trucking shuttle service to a daily frequency, linking key warehouses and cities in Malaysia.

The daily shuttle will connect the company’s warehouses in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Melaka and the service is supported by a fleet of trucks, including Agility’s own plus other selected partners.

“We can see many opportunities in the country and the trucking services and network of logistics centres provide us with a platform for growth,” said Morten Damgaard, CEO, South East Asia. The shuttle will strengthen the company’s domestic road freight services and its cross-border trucking business linking neighbouring Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries – including Thailand, Vietnam and services into China.

Currently, most clients using the service are from the electronics industry, but Damgaard expects this to extend to other industries. “We are seeing more business coming from the automotive, fashion and retail industries as they realise the benefits and cost savings of crossborder trucking,” he said.
