Swissport worker suspected in bullion theft
At least one member of airport ground handler Swissport’s staff at Paris Roissy-CDG Aiport is among six suspects to be questioned by police over the theft of around 50 kilos of gold ingots from an Air France flight to Zurich earlier this month.

The bullion, whose value is estimated at €1.6 million, has not been found. Each day, this type of shipment is loaded on to the flight, an armoured truck delivering the bullion to the foot of the aircraft.
The theft was only discovered by security firm Brink’s, the next day, in Switzerland. The company has underlined that it did not have responsibility for the shipment when it disappeared, which has thrown the spotlight onto Air France’s handling agent, Swissport.
